In Drenthe (NL) you are not in good shape if you are "Uut de tied".

In the province of Drenthe people are masters in expressing in simple words what they mean and at the same time remove the sharp edges. "Uut de tied" simply means dead, deceased.
When you get along with animals you know almost for sure your pets will die a long time before you do. The average dog does not live much longer than twelve years, sheep seldom become older than ten years. And a horse may live for twenty to twentye-five years, but that strongly depends on the owner. The other time I read an article saying that the average sporthorse does not become older than seven years. I believe there is something wrong over there.

I can't always estimate cats; the oldest cat we ever had did not give up before he was nineteen years old. But we also lost a kiten once just six weeks after we visited a cat show......
Let's assume the average show cat has had a good live when he or she reaches the age of ten years.
Of course the loss of any animal hurts, it would be strange if that was not the case. Especially when it was a real pet.
